Fashion Sales & Strategic Marketing Intern Overview
FashionBar is seeking sales-minded, strategic, and creative interns to join our Chicago-based Fashion Strategy and Consulting team. This role supports daily sales and business development efforts focused on expanding FashionBar’s lifestyle brand at the regional, national, and global levels.
Interns will work closely with FashionBar’s leadership and internal teams to pitch the mission and vision of FashionBar across existing and emerging markets, supporting the growth of Chicago as a recognized fashion destination bridging Los Angeles and New York City.
This is an accredited internship with the potential for commission-based sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
As a Fashion Sales & Strategic Marketing Intern, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting leadership on sales initiatives to drive brand awareness, relationship development, and revenue within the fashion and apparel industry
Assisting with sales-related projects in collaboration with marketing and communications teams
Contributing to lead generation efforts through event attendance, industry networking, digital outreach, and research
Assisting with the development and updating of sales presentations and pitch decks
Supporting outreach initiatives, including curated product or service packages for influencers, stylists, and industry partners
Participating in weekly project updates and reporting to support business growth objectives
Researching growth opportunities across regional, national, and global fashion markets, including competitive analysis
Assisting with project coordination to ensure sales deliverables and client fulfillment are executed effectively
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Branding, Sales, or Fashion
Junior or senior academic standing preferred
Strong interest in sales, business development, and customer engagement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Professional, proactive, and confident in presenting ideas and suggestions
Fashion-forward mindset with interest in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience with digital and social media platforms
Familiarity with social media tools or blogging platforms
Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint a plus)
Experience attending or supporting fashion events, pop-ups, or brand activations
Duration & Schedule
Duration: One semester or academic quarter
Approximately 20 hours per week
Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic and work commitments
What We Offer
This is an unpaid internship, but the experience offers significant professional value. Interns gain hands-on exposure to sales strategy, brand development, and relationship building within the fashion industry.
