Course Overview
This advanced course focuses on the design, development, and construction process, guiding you through using your own patterns to cut fabric and sew a sample garment. With an emphasis on quality, form, fit, and functionality, this course enables you to bring your design concepts to life.
What You’ll Learn:
- Advanced techniques for using personal patterns
- Cutting fabric and sewing your first design sample
- Ensuring quality, form, fit, and functionality in your garment
Requirements:
- Completed pattern with seam allowance
- Purchase of textiles and closures (zipper, hook, and eye)
- Optional: Bring your own straight stitch sewing machine (if familiar with its use), or use our available Singer and Juki straight stitch and serger machines.
Safety Measures
Our spacious studio allows for proper social distancing. Face masks are required, and sanitizing your workspace after each session is mandatory.
Completion and Additional Support
By the end of this course, you’ll complete your first garment. Should you need additional guidance, extra consulting sessions are available for extended mentorship.

- Hip curve ruler
- Tape measure
- Pattern drafting pinwheel
- Pencils (no pens)
- 2-inch clear ruler
- Paper scissors
