Day 7: Evening Wear Show and The 4th Annual Avant Garde Competition

Our October Fashion Week in Chicago concludes with an evening full of fashion featuring our Evening Wear Show held at the famous Water Tower Place on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. Our Evening Wear Show will showcase elegant designs, unique silhouettes, and luxurious fabrics. Walk the Red Carpet, strike a pose, and tell us who you are wearing as will be hosting our signature Red Carpet Interviews. We are also hosting a VIP Cocktail Reception featuring delicious drinks and complimentary hors d’oeuvres an hour before the show starts.
Our acclaimed Avant Garde competition features original designs inspired by the City of Chicago. Innovative and visionary designers are challenged to use the city and its architecture, culture, diversity, lakefront, and landmarks as inspiration for their designs and go head-to-head in a Project Runway-like competition. The winner will receive a $750 award of FashionBar’s consulting business services and a certificate recognizing their original, creative design. The Judging is based on coherence with the theme, skill level, creativity, artful expressiveness and overall execution:
Participants will not only represent themselves, but also their designer brand. Candidates must be a current resident of Illinois and can be professionally employed in the design industry at the time of the submission of their project. Candidates must design their own original projects completely by themselves. Candidates must follow the design and specifications outlined in their application for realization of their final project. Registration must be submitted on an individual basis. Online registration, applications, and final projects received after the deadline will not be accepted
